A Calf Pays for Schooling

Again, there is so much that farming can do for an impoverished family.  It doesn't have to be anything complex.  The article below, for example, is about a how a calf paid for the schooling of a boy named Ayun.  The community decided to give this family a cash cow instead of a fish.  Whether you teach a man a fish or you teach a man to manage his cash cow; either way will generate food and income.

For those of us who have a heart for the poor, I believe that this is the way to go.  Giving provisions is often necessary in the beginning, however giving of this kind should be temporary.  It does no good for the dependent to depend on you forever.  Once people obtain skills or find their passions, their options become limitless.  Ayun's cash cow paid for his schooling and his education can open so many doors for him in the future.
