More older moms don’t stop with one baby, new study finds

I know of a woman who started her whole life after 40.  She became a lawyer, she got married, she had a baby girl and then adopted two boys.  Many women talk about 40 like it is a dead end; like beyond 40 there isn't marriage and children.  The article below talks about women, like the one I described above, who starts their families after the big 4-0 and many of them don't stop after one child.

I feel that we need to stop allowing society put such silly limits on us.  If you can dream it, then you should have the freedom to go after it.

Music With A Message

Music is a fabulous way to reach people.  I don't know if I agree that all vaccines are evil like some say, but I certainly don't feel like I have enough information to feel safe to use them.  I feel that it is a shame that doctors bestow so little information about vaccines, yet apply all kinds of pressure to get vaccinated.

The poor man who was interviewed for this video faced a tragedy that many parents faced because of vaccines and this is the way he chose to speak out about it.  Enjoy!

Ron Paul and Vaccines

Ron Paul talks about the government's role in healthcare when it comes to vaccines, where it has brought us and where he feels we need to go from here.  Like me, he isn't a fan of the WHO which is why Monsanto, Codex and the pharmaceutical industry don't like him.

I know that he is suppose to be behind Romney in the polls, but he would be the best man for president.  He is brilliant, his foresight has been proven freakishly accurate and like no other politician that I know of; he is honest.  If Romney wins, I have reason to be very concerned about my health, the health of my family and the health of others in the nation.

Dr. Paul, I hope that you are the one in the oval office for the next four years.  Our nation needs you very, very badly.

Parsley is a blood purifying superfood

I've known parsley to be a blood cleanser, but it no longer surprises me now in light of what I know about leafy greens.  I've used parsley to add flavor to foods, but I've also added it to salads and I've even juiced it just to benefit from it's super qualities.

Try this:  Juice parsley, kale, dandelion, beets, carrots, apple and a little ginger.  You won't even taste all of the greens if you add enough carrots and the ginger will add a nice kick to the flavor!  You will still benefit from everything in this cleansing drink.

Thanks A Lot Barack!

My fear is that some of the greatest and most needed doctors will follow in the footsteps of the doctors who run, (rather the doctors who are in the process of shutting down) the Boiling Springs clinic thanks to Obamacare.  I'm so afraid that if Romney wins and continues this fiasco, we will be looking at a major shortage of good doctors in the nation and that is a VERY scary thought.

There was a time when I almost never got sick.  Over the last five years there were some rapid changes in my life and many illnesses followed.  If it wasn't for the great doctors who guided me back to health, I don't know where I would be.  If Obamacare chases such doctors away, there will be people like me who will be in a horrible fix.  We need to stop confusing things.  Obamacare isn't going to benefit us.  Think about it; how will the patients who received the letter above benefit from this situation?

I feel very badly for the patients who depended on Boiling Springs; but I absolutely don't blame the doctors.  I hope to see far less of this in the future; but there is little hope as long as Obamacare is in play.

Moss Rug: The living bathroom mat goes on sale

Below is an article about a LIVING bathmat!  No, REALLY!  It is a bathmat that is made of moss.  The moss drinks the water that drips off of your body after you shower.  Now, in all honesty I don't see how such a product is necessary, but I still think that it's a pretty cool idea to have a house plant that is so easy to care for.  People who like items that are all natural, well this is ONE way to do it!

The only place I found that sells this rug, sells it for $225.  I'm pretty sure that I don't want to spend THAT on a bathmat!  Nevertheless, I'm still fascinated and inspired by the idea.  Enjoy the article below.

Question About Sprouted Breads (Part II)

Baked sprouted breads are available in some stores and bakeries.  I've been to Rockland Bakery many, many times but a long time ago.  Therefore, I'm not sure if they have sprouted breads or not; it would not surprise me either way though.  I used to eat a sprouted spelt bread and for some reason it was the only baked bread that wouldn't give me a headache or stomach ache.  Baked sprouted breads, however, aren't the most nutritious.  It is best when you make "raw" breads from the sprouts.  In other words, you make the dough and then you make breads and crackers via dehydrator.  This way, all of the nutrients are intact because the bread is not baked above 120 degrees.

I'm learning so much about sprouts, but I'm still researching and learning.  It was an exciting discovery for me.  Again, I don't believe I will ever permanently live the complete raw food lifestyle, but it looks like I will borrow many dishes and recipes from them because what they eat is so wonderfully nutritious.

Question About Sprouted Breads

I received the following question and comment about my post about sprouted bread:

I am looking forward to posts on this. I wonder if sprouted bread is sold at Rockland Bakery. My dad always buys bread there. What are the health benefits of sprouted bread as opposed to Rye bread?

Sprouted grain has far more nutrients.  Something happens to beans, grains and legumes when you sprout them; their nutritional content becomes richer.  Whole wheat bread is okay, but when sprouted, even grains like wheatberries attain far more protein, antioxidants and vitamins than the wheat alone.  Just about any grain or legume can be sprouted including rye.  Instead of eating the regular baked rye bread, you could sprout the rye grains, make a dough from it and then make very nutrient dense crackers, breads and cereals with a dehydrator.  It's ridiculous the amount of food that you could make from sprouts.  We could actually live on sprouts and never get board or go hungry.  I now understand the secret of people on raw food diets.  They don't need animal protein because they get all of their protein from nuts and sprouts!

Finding Balance

I try to stay on the positive side and most of the time I succeed.  However, I've been having a very difficult time with what has been happening in politics as far as how it effects health.

For many reasons, I know that we will all be fine.  I still can't help bumming hard when I hear of stories like Jodi and Scott's.  I wish that I could hear more good news.  The problem is not that there isn't enough good news, the problem is that when bad news happens, the people who want to fight against an issue will post the problem to inform people like me so that I could do something to let my voice be heard.  I do the same when I hear bad news because I am so determined to make it right and so are many others who are in the fight with me.  I guess I need to remember that problems are always going to arise.  Unfortunately, there are people out there who are selfish and greedy and ready to sacrifice even that which doesn't belong to them to get what they want.

My challenge is to find a balance.  I want to fight the injustices that happen, but I don't want to fight it at the expense of celebrating the victories both big and small.  When there are so many issues coming at me at once, it's sometimes difficult to see the good news that is out there and abundant.

Sprouted Bread

I'm very excited about all of the sprouted bread recipes that I have found.  After I try some of them and find my favorite ones, I will share.

I posted how I like "fast" foods.  I'm so happy that there are ways to make a nutrient dense bread which is also a "grab and go" type food.  It's amazing what natural food has to offer when it isn't denatured.  I know that I have a lot of experimenting with the sprouted grains to do, but I look forward to the experimentation as well as the results that I find.

I used to eat a sprouted spelt bread that was registered with the non-GMO project (which was nice) but I wanted to know more about making it myself so that I know what was in the food that I was eating.  For example, many people still use tap water to cook and I would be surprised if companies use reverse osmosis water to make food even if they are reputable companies.  I only use RO water in my food.  That means that the bread that I make will be better for me by far than any bread that I may buy.  Besides, when I make my own bread I can flavor it any way I want to which is a huge bonus.

I will post what I find from playing with different recipes.  Any questions, comments and furthermores are welcome.

Link between fast food and depression confirmed

I found that this was interesting, although I can't say that I was surprised to hear this.  In "Super Size Me" Morgan talked about this.  Because of all the sugar that he ate, he actually started experiencing addictions to the food; in other words he would get a high after eating and he would crash after a while.

Recipe Request II

After much searching, I found a recipe for low temperature bread.  In fact, I found a raw bread recipe!  I'm actually pretty excited about trying it.  I already bought my wheatberries and I'm looking forward to sprouting them and making them into something delicious.  I will post my success.

If anyone has ANY further suggestions, please post them in the comments below.  All suggestions are welcome.

Recipe Request

I have been hunting for a low temperature bread recipe.  Does anyone know of one?

I'm not trying to switch to a raw food diet or anything.  There are certain things that I will continue to cook in a conventional way, however, if there is a way to cook or bake foods under 150 degrees, I am open to instruction.  I prefer to keep as much of the nutrients in food as possible which is why low heat recipes would be good for me.  When foods start to get a little old, like onions, peppers and garlic for example, I use it to make things like soup stock.  Since the nutrients are mostly gone in food that is a little older, heating it isn't as much of an issue for me.  But for something like sprouted spelt flour, I would much rather bake it at a low temperature.  I know the recipe exists, but I'm having a difficult time finding one that I like.

More than ever, your questions, comments and furthermores are welcome!

Fighting Estrogen Dominance: Shampoo and Conditioner

I already touched on shampoo and conditioner a little in past posts.  I talked about how olive oil soap, Shea butter and coconut oil all literally saved my skin.

Dr. Lee has suggested that one option is using the bar soap in your hair.  I would have a difficult time with that.  Thank goodness there is liquid olive oil soap available.  Shea butter is a great conditioner as well as a moisturizer as I mentioned in the last post.  This probably wouldn't be good for someone with oily hair or skin, so when in doubt talk to your doctor.  If you have dry hair and you want to use coconut oil, apply the oil to hair while it is still wet and then dry.

Fighting Estrogen Dominance: Moisturizers

I'm grateful that the moisturizers that I've been using aren't forms of phytoestrogen.  Shea butter and coconut oil are wonderful moisturizers, and neither will further my problem.  Many moisturizers have xenoestrogens like propylene glycol or paraben.  The ones at the health food stores are often better, but be careful to always read ingredients anyway.  "Green" products are sometimes made with an intention to create a better world, but often they are simply made to sell.  After all, there are many who look for "greener" products these days.  Also, keep in mind, because these green/health products sell so well, they are often made by the same mainstream food and cola companies who couldn't care less about health or sustainability.  Their priority is producing something that you, the consumer, will buy.

Shea butter and coconut oil also serve as fabulous hair conditioners.  The Shea butter mostly.  If you have hair that is on the oilier side, you may want to try something else.  If your hair is normal or on the dryer side, Shea butter conditions beautifully!  Some people can't put it on their face, though, so be careful if you have skin that is sensitive to oils.  When in doubt, always consult your doctor.

"Fast" Food

Don't worry, this isn't another post complaining about the golden arches or anything.  I just discovered something about myself today.  I like "fast" food.  Again, I'm not talking about burgers or french fries.  What I mean is, I notice how I'll crave fresh greens for example, but instead of satisfying that craving, I'll have a piece of fruit.  Perhaps I am truly a New Yorker, always wanting things to be done quick so that I can get going on other things; but I'm just not a big fan of the washing and chopping and spending all of that time preparing veggies when I'm hungry.  This is why I love cultured vegetables so much.  When I'm hungry, I pull it right out of the jar.  There is nothing for me to cook or prepare.

What I need is a day each week to wash, chop, boil (tea for kombucha), mix and prepare foods for the week.  This is actually something my mother suggested to me a long time ago, but I only half took her suggestion.  I guess her advise had more wisdom in it than I thought.

For example, tomorrow I'm going to be spending a few hours boiling water to make kombucha and washing and chopping vegetables to prepare them for fermenting.  The time that I spend tomorrow will save me time when I am tired on a weeknight.  Maybe what I can do is set some of the veggie mixes aside in order to eat it fresh for the next two days.

These are all ways to spend less time preparing meals when my husband comes home and spend more time with him or doing other things that are important.  Also, this can give me more options when I'm looking for some fast food!

Land Of The Free?

I am grateful to the people who keep us informed of what is going on.  I am very disturbed by the last video and it absolutely infuriates me that our government could do something so disgustingly low.
I often wonder what ever happened to our America; you know, "the land of the free and the home of the brave" we call it.  It is a shame that these people are making liars out of those of us who sing that song.

I don't know what kind of a Republic THIS is, but it is certainly not the Republic that the red, white and blue flag that I used to "pledge allegiance" to in school stands for!  That flag stood for a Republic that fought for liberty and justice for all.  While once upon a time Americans like Jodi and Scott could say these words with pride, after something like this happened to them and so many others, how can we not blurt such words with disdain?

I still have hope for the free country that we once lived in.  I have hope that one day people like Jodi and Scott could have a baby in peace or fight back and win if such an injustice occurs again.  I am just one of many who are doing what is possible to inspire the will to fight for our country back.  To all of my allies out there, keep up the great work; for we will win other battles!

CPS, Friend or Fiend?

I understand that there are some kids who are abused by their parents and need to be taken from their very unsafe environment.  I wish that it could be a last choice, but if a parent is really hurting a child (which happens unfortunately) there may not be time for other options.  What is disturbing is when the government takes control of your children even when you have been giving them the best of care.  This is an occurrence that should never ever happen, but unfortunately it happens more than I thought.

In the case of *baby Annie* there was absolutely NO excuse for that seizure.  Annie was kidnapped by a crooked CPS social worker, but thankfully she was brought safely back to her parents.  Let's not condone this kidnapping regardless of her return.  She was vaccinated against her parents' wishes while in the hands of the government but thankfully there were no fatal repercussions from them.

As a former school counselor I remember a time when I believed in the system.  I would have to report any "reasonable suspicion" of abuse.  When I suspected that a child may have been beaten by a parent, I felt confident leaving the matter up to CPS to investigate.  After watching the video below, it makes me sick that I EVER trusted them.  Again, I believe there are CPS agents who do have the heart to protect children.  Unfortunately, it is important to know that there are fiends in the field as well.  The fiends do the children who need CPS a tremendous disservice because it is the fiend that may eventually make it easier for the abusive parent to hold on to a child that needs to be taken.

Much More On Soap Nuts

I'm learning how careful one must be when purchasing soap nuts.  The brand that I advertised was apparently a good one because they remove the seeds, but it is still good to know what you are buying. You may click *here* to read and article on things that you should know about soap nuts; but I've written some highlights below.

Buying the de-seeded soap nuts is a big thing.  You are paying for the weight of the soap nuts and the seeds are dense and heavy.  More importantly, the seeds aren't to be used in the wash.  They can stain your cloths and they haven't any cleaning power.  If you find any soap nuts with seeds, it is best to remove the seed before using them to wash.

Another important point was when purchasing soap nuts, don't be fooled by the labels that tell you how many washes you will get out of the package.  It is best to buy a good product and learn how to get the most out of them on your own.  It was suggested that beginners start with 5 soap nuts (de-seeded of course) for 5 loads.  From there, you can figure out how to get the most washes out of your product.

Fighting Estrogen Dominance: Laundry Detergent

Laundry detergent, believe it or not, is one way you get a daily intake of estrogen.  The conventional usually contain xenoestrogens (chemical estrogen).  Whether you have a problem with estrogen dominance or not xenoestrogens are to always be avoided.  These chemicals may not only dominate progesterone but block progesterone as well.  My doctor explained to me that she has used phytoestrogen (plant based estrogen) to balance hormones, but it is good to stay away from xenoestrogen,

I used to use Biokleen.  When I didn't see it on either do or don't lists on the literature that Dr. Lee sent me, I was so happy.  When I spoke with him, however, he said to stop using it.  I still like Biokleen, but maybe for now I just won't use it.

He made a few suggestions for alternative laundry detergents.  There was one in particular that I was willing to try.  The soap nuts sounded very interesting.  The instructions say that you could use the soap nuts multiple times which I like.  I'm not sure how many loads you can do before it loses its cleaning potency, but again, I'm willing to give it a shot and I don't really mind washing one or two loads twice just to figure out how many washes one can get out of six soap nuts.

Fighting Estrogen Dominance: Hand and Body Soap

Choosing hand and body soap was VERY difficult for me.  I had to give up my much loved shea butter soap because of the neem and the lavender which are BOTH phytoestrogens (plant based estrogen).  I didn't really like any of Dr. Lee's suggestions.  I noticed, however, that for skin moisturizers olive oil was listed as a good choice.  When I came upon the concept of olive oil soap, I was in love!

I've ordered two different brands.  Right now I just use the bar for my hands and the liquid for the shower.  I will eventually be using olive oil soap for showers, hand washing, dish washing and as a shampoo.  Some have used the bar soap for all of this.  I've read reviews and many say that they love it because it doesn't dry out their skin.  One problem with this Kiss My Face product, however, is that the soap bar is so big.  Many people cut it in half or into fourths.

Step by step, there are ways of reducing the substances that block progesterone.  Using olive oil soap is one step that I have taken and I'm already very happy with it.  I will probably continue to use olive oil soap from now on.  Below are the bar soap that I use, (I would look for it in your health food store before buying it here).  Please check the *Wellness Avenues* page where there are more options for soaps under the "Bath and Body" list.  Again, careful when you shop at that store for those of you with estrogen dominance, for there are soaps with lavender and other phytoestrogens.

Fighting Estrogen Dominance

Fighting estrogen dominance can be tedious because there is so much to be aware of.  Something as wonderful as lavender can be recognized as estrogen by the body.  Because of this, it shouldn't touch the skin of an individual who suffers from estrogen dominance according to Dr. John Lee.

If you are as sensitive as me, there are a few products that may be of interest to you.  I'm going to talk about them in several posts throughout this month.  I have a long, long list of dos and don'ts that Dr. Lee sent along with his Progestelle product.

If you are interested in his product click *here* to go to his website.  I use it now, but what is even more useful are the things that I can do to help my hormones balance themselves.  When I spoke with Dr. Lee, he told me that many of his patients/clients who meticulously rid their household of products that can raise estrogen are the ones who eventually don't even need Progestelle, progesterone creams or any other product because the body just balances the hormones out on its own.

When I saw the list and when I spoke with Dr. Lee, I was overwhelmed.  I didn't know how to make all of these changes.  I didn't even know where to start.  Right now, I'm taking my time and making necessary changes slowly.  Again, I'll be giving tips and helpful hints throughout the month.

Doctor Says Vaccine Is WORSE Than Flu?

Here is another honest doctor who gives good, correct information about swine flu and seasonal flu.  He says much of what my own doctor says.  What I find interesting is that, like many parents, he has more concerns about the vaccine than he does about the flu.  I guess he understands that the CDC lumped the number of pneumonia deaths with the number of influenza deaths.

49% of US parents have greater concern about vaccines than they do about infectious diseases.  It's sad how this is so disregarded.  I say that it is disregarded because instead of giving these parents counsel, many are threatened or they have their babies taken away.  I will not stop hoping for far better in the future.

The Connection Between Sole and Soul Pt 3

While it’s pleasant to varnish our toenails magenta and pamper our feet with a massage now and then, they need a lot more attention than this to stay healthy. Award-winning health journalist, Hazel Courtney, recommends we treat our feet from the inside out. Friendly foods for feet include oily fish, bananas and pulses, such as lentils and beans, as these are excellent for healthy bones. Boost your calcium levels, magnesium and fatty acids, by adding nuts (not peanuts), sunflower, pumpkin and sesame seeds to your diet. Opt for brown rice rather than white and increase the amount of brewer’s yeast and leafy green vegetables in your diet, as these are good sources of B vitamins and magnesium. Make sure you don’t undo all your good work; reduce your intake of alcohol and sugary foods, as these deplete the vitamins and minerals that bones need.

Not only does Gadd offer a diagnosis, she also suggests ways that we might heal emotionally, and learn from what our feet are trying to tell us. It was helpful for me to read that we "are constantly supported in life, but often we just aren't aware of it." If we feel unsupported and alone, while life collapses around us, Gadd's message is that "it may simply be the end of an era, thus opening the way to the beginning of a new, more enjoyable period of our lives." This was certainly a different and more positive way of looking at what can feel like loss or disaster, and a change of attitude that would be a challenge for me.

Gadd's work has made me focus deeper on grounding myself and I look forward to acting on her suggestion that those with support issues might benefit from leaning against a tree or lying on the ground, feeling "its solid comforting support" (lazing on a sofa bed would probably not have quite the same result). Whether we realize it or not, we are being supported on our life journey, even if it doesn’t always appear to be going according to plan. Next step: find a tree.

The Connection Between Sole and Soul Pt 2

Holistic professionals will be interested in Gadd's thorough explanation of the mind-body connection in specific relation to the chakras and feet, and the concept that feet can be "read", just like palms. The A-Z Aspects of the Feet section spoke to me most loudly. I have always had flat feet but I had not considered that this might reflect the issues I have with support and grounding. "People with flat feet generally feel that they lack support in life or are not supported by those around them" says Gadd. "They feel vulnerable and ungrounded, and may very often have boundary issues. It is as if the foot collapses (or is drawn to the earth) in an attempt to feel grounded and supported."

A typical response to the problem of fallen arches might be to find a good local health clinic that deals with sports injuries. If they have an in-house podiatrist or chiropodist, you can be fitted for individual orthotics (inserts made specifically for your feet) to give you all the support you need. Alternatively, inserts can be bought off the shelf from large chemists and foot specialists like Scholl.

The Connection Between Sole and Soul Pt 1

Unless they ache, blister or don't fit into a pair of shoes on the sale rack, we don't pay much attention to our feet. Perhaps we will remember to paint our nails now and then, and intermittently, we treat the rough skin on our heels (without much success), but essentially, they are just made for walking. Since the average person will walk 71,000 miles over their life-span (almost three times round the Earth) and our feet contain 26 bones, 56 ligaments and 36 muscles, much can go wrong with our feet. However, like many aspects of our bodies, we take them for granted unless they are causing us pain.

Interesting then, to read that aspects of the feet reflect character traits and emotional issues we face. Ann Gadd's study, Finding Your Feet - How the Sole Reflects the Soul (Findhorn Press) holds up our feet as a mirror to our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances. I found out that while I have a (perhaps rather dull) Modern English foot, my husband has a Greek foot, and these have significant meanings, as do the colors of our feet and any podiatric problems we have. Readers are also encouraged to avoid labeling their feet as "good" or "bad" and to see that deeply-held attitudes to feet connect to deep-seated emotional patterns.

Sugar, The Addictive, DEADLY Poison

Sugar is the toxin responsible for America's #1 and #2 killers (heart disease and cancer according to the CDC).  When ingested in it's natural form (from fruit and sweet vegetables) it will not have the same impact on the body as refined white sugar.

At first, I was confused by the demonizing of honey in this video because honey is a healthy, medicinal food.  Then, I remembered some facts that I've learned many years ago.  REAL honey IS a healthy, medicinal food.  The reason honey was demonized in the video is because what people usually buy is a fake honey made by bees that were fed sugar.  So instead of making honey from flowers, the bees make it from refined white sugar making the honey an addictive, deadly substance.  This is why I only eat (and highly recommend) raw, organic honey.

We were designed to eat real food which refined sugar is not.  It is addictive and poisonous and it is killing us.

Please watch this very informative video:

Natural Pools (NO Chlorine!)

In the last ten years or so, I haven't been a fan of swimming pools because of the chlorine.  I understand that without the chlorine, the water can become quite nasty and even dangerous to swim in because of pathogens.  This is why I've always preferred the beach because the salt in the water is a natural cleanser.  I've always wondered if there was such a thing as natural cleansers for a swimming pool.

Biotop Natural Pool constructs pools that have no need for chlorine.  The brilliant designers use a system of plants, filters and maintenance to keep the pool clean.  They make it a part of your backyard landscape.  So besides having a swimming pool, you also have a beautiful addition to your garden.  Some of these pools are absolutely breathtaking.  I will be dreaming of this until the day I have my own!

Estrogen Dominance II

The more dangerous xenoestrogens I've cut out of my life.  I don't believe I have any products in my house that contain paraben.  Paraben can actually block progesterone absorption.  If you have an issue with estrogen dominance, anything with parabens need to go.  Parabens can unfortunately be found almost everywhere in a normal household:  perfumes, lotions or creams, make-up, soaps, shampoos, conditioners and more.  So if you have this problem too, go through EVERYTHING that you put on your skin including the laundry detergent that you use on your clothes and sheets.  Parabens in the detergent can be absorbed by the skin via the clothes that you wear and the sheets that you sleep on.

It's scary that all of these little things that women do when they are pregnant can contribute to a possible miscarriage.  In this country 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage.  If you have ANY chronic issues with your health, that is another reason why "Super Natural Home" is a great book for you to read, but so is this month's book "Hormone Balance Made Simple" by Dr. John Lee.

Estrogen Dominance

I'm someone who suffers from estrogen dominance.  Progesterone isn't naturally produced by my body in large enough quantities.  This is part of the reason I've suffered from excruciating abdominal pain and migraines every single month once upon a time.  Of course, the conventional method of treating the pain is by taking birth control pills.  To this day, that is still among the most nonsensical things I've ever heard!  So I've looked at a number of alternative methods; some that worked and others that didn't.  The treatment that I'm living by these days builds on the past treatments that seemed to work well.

As a woman with an estrogen dominance, the "Super Natural Living" (last month's book) is becoming more and more important.  There are xenoestrogens everywhere.  The difference between plant based estrogen (phytoestrogen) and a chemical estrogen (xenoestrogens) is the natural ones are more easily managed by the body.  My doctor told me that she has used phytoestrogen to treat women with estrogen that is too low AND too high.  So I don't worry as much about phytoestrogens, but I still avoid them as much as I can.

April's Book

Here is a book that can help many women like me.  I've had trouble with estrogen dominance for a few years now.  It can be very tedious if you are as sensitive as me, but there are changes that can be made to balance your hormones to the point where you won't even need things like progesterone creams or drops which I've been working with for a few years now.

So, to the women who need help with hormone balance and for the men who love the women who need help with hormone balance, check this one out!

A Calf Pays for Schooling

Again, there is so much that farming can do for an impoverished family.  It doesn't have to be anything complex.  The article below, for example, is about a how a calf paid for the schooling of a boy named Ayun.  The community decided to give this family a cash cow instead of a fish.  Whether you teach a man a fish or you teach a man to manage his cash cow; either way will generate food and income.

For those of us who have a heart for the poor, I believe that this is the way to go.  Giving provisions is often necessary in the beginning, however giving of this kind should be temporary.  It does no good for the dependent to depend on you forever.  Once people obtain skills or find their passions, their options become limitless.  Ayun's cash cow paid for his schooling and his education can open so many doors for him in the future.

Teach A Man To Fish III (Raising and Trading)

I understand some people may not be able to slaughter animals for meat.  I'm like that.  I would cry every single time I see the slaughter truck coming up my street because I wouldn't be able to let go of Gladys the cow and Red the chicken.  The program I dream of isn't about "getting over" such things.

It is about learning to do something and recognizing where one may excel because of a variety of factors.  Take my issue with slaughter again.  I can buy meat from someone else who could stomach slaughter.  As long as there is no attachment I can eat meat.  How about climate?  I may not live in an area that can grow millet very well or at all.  But someone in another state may and they may NOT be able to raise the food that I can raise.  This is the beauty of networking and trade.  If these farmers all work together, how can they possibly starve?  Isn't this how many people survived in America once upon a time?  Whatever happened to that?

Why constantly give money to people to buy dry cereal and milk if they are on or near land that could provide healthy cows/goats for milk and high quality oat crops? I'll say it again, "Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime."

Teach a Man To Fish II (The Business and Backward Thinking)

Just how corporate greed stole from people trying to make an honest living via selling produce (for example cotton farmers in India and the 300,000 farmers who lost their battle against Monsanto); lives can be given back if they can heal the soil and grow on it again.  Imagine people growing their food and selling it to willing buyers like me.  Good farmers are highly in demand right now because there are so many trying to avoid things like GMOs and conventional milk.  People want high quality food and are willing to spend more on it than on conventional food that contains empty calories and toxins.

So my question is why are we a nation who is so focused on giving people fish, when there are many who are fully equipped and willing to give others what they need to learn how to fish?
