Sugar and Obesity

In the last post, we discussed the high content of sugar that Morgan from "Super Size Me" was ingesting.  The Big M** he ate contained about 9 grams of sugar.  The large french fries have 0 grams of sugar, but understand there is sugar in those fries.  (What Morgan actually had was the super sized fries and the nutrition content for that was unavailable.)  We also discussed the incredible 135 grams of sugar he drank in that super sized soda.

The following presentation explains what was happening in Morgan's body.  Essentially, the video explains why sugar can make one fat.  It will also explain food addictions.  Enjoy!

  1. If obesity is due to diet and lifestyle, then the solution is a significant change in these areas. As for the obese children, the increase in television viewing and increasing physical activity to reduce obesity, obesity is a major factors.2 define the most simple definition is too much body fat.

  2. I agree, however, the video explains how excess sugars and HFCS can only increase body fat. This ineffective method of eating low fat foods (low fat milk and low fat cup cakes) seem to be increasing the problem.
