Erroneous Attributions

We are so mistaken when we attribute health to low calorie diets and exercise.  Not that I don't advocate proper eating habits and exercise, but not the way we do it.  Low fat cakes and cookies are seen as "healthy" but no one who supports this idea will bother to look at the ingredients.

Feeding your body entails giving nutrients to all the organs, tissues and even at a cellular level.  The body can't do without nutrients.  For example, fat is a nutrient; cell walls are made of fat.  For decades fat has had a bad rep; coconut oil is a great example of this.  Now people realize that coconut is a superfood and coconut is in demand.  Depriving the body of nutrients like fat will cause the body to starve and get sick.  Replacing nourishing fat with something like trans fats or other toxins will also cause the body to starve or get sick.  People misunderstand the idea of "feeding" themselves and it has led us to a place where we don't even understand the concept of health anymore.

Health means something entirely different to me.  Health is fundamental in life.  If one isn't healthy, the quality of one's life will plummet dramatically depending on how much impact one's illness has on one's life.  Those of us who can walk take advantage of the fact that we have legs, but what happens when they don't work as they do always?  Suddenly, doing something as simple as going to the bathroom seems like a hike!  The sooner we change our attitude toward health, the happier and healthier our bodies will be.
