Duckweed Growing Tip: Duckweed vs. String Algae

Those who raise duckweed claim that it is fairly easy to raise.  Many don't even "buy" duckweed starters; it's possible just to take some from a pond and then grow it in clean water.

This video was very simple, and yet informative.  Apparently, when growing duckweed, string algae tends to grow too.  The gardener in the video says that string algae steals nutrients from your duckweed, yet it is a very valuable water weed.  Many just harvest the algae with the duckweed and feed it to their livestock (geese LOVE duckweed and they will eat the string algae too).  This video introduces another option for the fate of the string algae that you take out of your duckweed crops.
